The voice of one of the iconic characters of the video game world, Solid Snakeperformed by the voice actor David Hayter in the majority of Metal Gear Solid works, explained in recent statements to GameInformer his non-presence in the latest installment of the saga: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, in addition to loading inks against its producer, director and top person in charge, the Japanese Hideo Kojima.
The disagreements began when the dubbing of Naked Snake in Metal Gear Solid 3 was offered to a prestigious actor such as Kurt Russell something that bothered Mr. Hayter. The last straw was that for Metal Gear Solid V they simply did not have his candidacydirectly offering the position to fellow actor Kiefer Sutherland.
When asked if he would play the fifth installment of the saga, the actor simply said “Sure. It would be 60 hours of humiliation that I cannot bear“. Regarding Kojima, he assured that he did not feel special affection:
I don’t feel any need to work with him again.
