PlayStation VR’s external processor will not add more power to PS4

We continue talking about PlayStation VR, Sony’s helmet with which it intends to conquer the virtual reality market. If you looked at the contents of the box PSVR gonna accompanied by a small device in the form of a mini-PS4the size of four stacked CD boxes.

It is a external processing unit which will be in charge of several functions such as distributing the 3D audio that we will enjoy, broadcasting the games on the helmet in Cinematic Mode or taking care of the audio and video streaming that we will send to the television when we activate this option in asymmetrical games.

What Sony wanted to make clear is that this unit itself will not add extra power to PlayStation 4and that the console is very capable of moving games on its own at 120 Hz. In addition, the external unit is not programmable nor can it be used as a support to improve the performance of games that use or do not use the headset.
