Whether you stream or not, if you’re used to gaming online with your friends, you need a microphone of some sort. However, if you do stream, the microphone on the table suddenly becomes more valuable. The SteelSeries name has been a guarantee for quality products for decades. This afternoon, the manufacturer unveiled two brand new gamer microphones, which look very professional based on the first reports. The Alias and that Alias Pro is also something that makes most gamers salivate.
Powered by Sonar for Streamers software, the Alias microphones feature a custom-built 1-inch condenser capsule that is three times the size of conventional microphone capsules. The finely tuned cardioid capsule pattern minimizes background noise with a bubble-like pickup area, matching the sound pattern used in broadcast and recording studios, and is the optimal solution for precise and effective vocals. This was supplemented with a custom-built vibration damper that absorbs vibrations.
Alias, brought to life by Sonar for Streamers, is the first microphone designed from the ground up specifically for gamers. To keep players informed on the go, the Alias microphone displays volume information with a 5-level LED indicator that changes to a highly visible red “X” when muted. Using Sonar for Streamers, the Alias Pro is a broadcast-quality XLR microphone that captures every detail of the user’s voice with extreme precision, while a balanced XLR system with preamplifier and 48V phantom power reduces noise and interference to deliver clear and powerful 24bit/ Provide 48kHz audio.
Alias Pro also comes with the Stream Mixer, an external control station that supports two USB ports so that streamers can use two devices at the same time. Here, basic functions such as microphone amplification or mute are within easy reach. Streamers can customize the volume control and buttons to mix or mute certain audio channels.
The SteelSeries Alias will be available for €199.99, the Alias Pro will be available for €349.99 and the SteelSeries Boom Arm will be available for €99.99.
