Two exciting gamer monitors from AOC

AOC is gradually becoming an increasingly important and dominant player in the monitor market. Players are now treated to two novelties, a traditional monitor and a more special monitor. The first a GAMING CQ27G2S/BKand the latter a 16G3 was given a code name.

From the name of the CQ27G2S/BK, you can already guess that it has a 27-inch screen, which means it is of average size. The resolution of the VA panel is 2560*1440 pixels, which can be updated at up to 165 Hz. Of course, we also get Adaptive-Sync support. This is accompanied by a GtG response time of 4 ms and an MPRT (Moving Pictures Response Time) of 1 ms. There is no shortage of HDR10 panels either, and the contrast ratio is 3000:1.

What makes it more special than many other gamer monitors is the 1500R bending. The model features an ergonomic base that offers height, tilt and swivel adjustability, allowing users to customize their settings for maximum comfort. Flicker-Free technology and the Low Blue Light mode of the monitor contribute to reducing eye strain during gaming sessions that last until late at night. The AOC GAMING CQ27G2S/BK model will be available from the end of September 2023 at a suggested retail price of 249 euros.

The other novelty is the 16G3, which looks special already. This is a portable monitor that specifically serves the purpose of having a perfect gamer monitor at our disposal anytime, anywhere. The IPS panel offers a resolution of 1920*1080 pixels, which can be updated at 144 Hz. The response time is 4 ms, the contrast ratio is 1000:1, and the brightness can be 250 cd/m2. Adaptive-Sync technology eliminates stuttering, while low input lag provides an undeniable competitive advantage in situations where milliseconds and quick reactions mean the difference between victory and defeat.

Seamlessly combining black and red accents, the 16G3 radiates a refined and boldly bold style. Its slim, 11.5 mm profile and feather-light weight of less than 1.1 kg were born in the spirit of aesthetics and practicality. Since it is the same size as a laptop with a 15.6-inch screen, the monitor fits in most laptop bags.

While the microHDMI input accepts past and current generation consoles (such as PS4, PS5 or Xbox One, Xbox Series S or X) and older laptops, one USB-C input supports DisplayPort Alt Mode and power supply, allowing seamless connection to laptops and (certain) smartphones. The 16G3’s second USB-C port enables DC power input, streamlining cable management. The AOC GAMING 16G3 model can be purchased from mid-September 2023 at a recommended retail price of EUR 309.
