Ubisoft confirms there will be no Assassin’s Creed game in 2016

Ubisoft has confirmed through its official blog that this year, and breaking with the tradition of the last installments, They will not release any games from their famous Assassin’s Creed franchise.

The news, which has been rumored for a long time, responds to a need to “re-examine the franchise”dedicate extra time so that users can see a real leap in quality in a saga that has already received criticism for falling behind in its proposal and being somewhat stagnant in the playable aspects.

We will use this year to evolve the playable mechanics and ensure that we offer unique and memorable experiences.

Since we launched Assassin’s Creed Unity we have learned a lot from your feedback. We will update our development and review processes to make Assassin’s Creed a leading open world franchise.

For many people this will be good news. and for others a bad one, but the truth is that many voices were asking for a measure like this taking into account the performance problems and bugs that Unity had – to a greater extent – and Syndicate, the two titles in the saga for current consoles.

So it seems that if we want Assassin’s this year we will have to settle for AC: Chronicles, a game that you already have in your PlayStation Store, in addition to the movie with real actors starring Michael Fassbender that will be released end of 2016.
