Entomophobes at a disadvantage, the new Empire of Ants is coming next year

Ants are wonderful creatures that rarely feature in video games. There was one game, though Empire of the Ants, which was about them many, many years ago. And now he is preparing another one with the same title, which could be released next year.

The new Empire of the Ants is being developed by Microids at the Tower Five studio. You have to think of a kind of strategic game, where our task will be to straighten out the life of our own anthill. We can do this as ant 103683 somewhere in the middle of a French forest.

Unreal Engine 5 will work during the game, and based on the first trailer, we can prepare for a very real visual world. In the video, we also get a taste of the various clashes between arthropods, as sometimes two anthills, sometimes other insects and bugs collide. However, according to the developers’ promise, the game will not only consist of this, as we will also get a complete story, which will evolve according to the changes of the seasons.

Empire of the Ants will be released for PC and consoles sometime in 2024. So far, the makers have not clarified which consoles it might be, but we would tentatively guess the usual PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S pair.
