Playstation 4 firmware 3.50 can be downloaded starting tomorrow

After a few months of waiting, we now have the much-loved update 3.50 for Playstation 4, which brings as a great novelty the possibility of playing remotely on Mac or PC on our PS4. Compatible operating systems will be Windows 8.1, 10, OSX Yosemite and OSX El Capitan. We will can choose resolution (360p, 540p or 720p) and the number of images per second (30 or 60), in order to adjust it to our connection speed. To play, we will need to connect our PS4 controller to the computer’s USB.

On the other hand, the interaction with our contacts will also undergo an enhancement of characteristics: first of all we will be able to hide our status to friends, so they don’t know we’re connected. When a friend connects we will receive a notification notifying us of this change of status. Furthermore, we can join a friend’s game with the Play Together option.

Lastly, and also related to our friendships, we can create events and send invitations to schedule online gaming sessions, which can also be shared in communities.

Other minor improvements are the possibility of linking Dailymotion, tagging friends in videos and images, creating accounts for minors, as well as a special section to manage our data saved in the cloud, such as games or purchases.
