Skull Island: Rise of Kong is out, but sin has gone bad

King Kong conquered the cinema screens many, many decades ago and the XXI. a popular topic among filmmakers even in the 20th century. There have been far fewer video games with the giant ape, but a new one appeared yesterday. THE Skull Island: Rise of Kong is a joint project of studio IguanaBee and publisher GameMill Entertainment, which tells the origin story of the legendary giant.

Yes, except that the handful of players who showed some interest in it at all – and there aren’t too many of them – are now flooding the internet with the warning: nobody should buy the game, because it’s scandalously bad. In fact, there are those who think it’s worse than The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, and that’s no small thing.

The game is currently at 38% on Steam, but it also received this based on barely a dozen votes, so it can be considered both ominous and less authoritative. But it is easy to imagine that many more people will not appreciate it, since who would buy it with such signs?

The problem with the game is not only that it is basically ugly, the animations and the gameplay are reminiscent of the ’90s, but also that it is full of shocking errors. One of the roughest, for example, is this, where the makers forgot a picture of a dinosaur in a transition, which was probably a placeholder during the development, but the scene was just missed. But there are more and more similar posts on X, where players draw each other’s attention to such stupid mistakes.
