Sony wants to register the term “Let’s Play”

As indicated a new post At the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Sony has recently filed a patent for the rights to the term “Let’s Play.”

The translation of Let’s Play is “Let’s play” or “Let’s play”, and it has been used repeatedly in North America and even outside this territory, to promote video games and “campaigns” in YouTube videos. Its use will be related to the “electronic transmission of video games over local and global networks; transmission of audio, visual and audiovisual content over local and global networks.”

However, an entry on Trademarkia.com claims that Sony has not obtained the rights about the term, since the office responsible for examining the petition has requested information more specific about the use that will be given to “Let’s Play”.
