Last June 2015 the independent developer Drool announced a new “violently paced” title called Thumper that captivated many players, for having a colorful visual section full of special effects that can now be enjoyed in close-up thanks to PlayStation VR, according to the company’s latest announcement.
In Thumper, players will take the role of a space beetle that is making its way through the head of a giant demon. The controls are quite simple, but the game is geared towards “pressing the sense of speed and physics.” to an extreme that players have never felt before in a game,” according to Marc Flury of developer Drool.
About his arrival in virtual reality, Flury stated in a new entry from the official PlayStation Blog that “at first we weren’t sure if Thumper would be a good fit for VR. We’ve spent the last few years obsessed with making Thumper the most intense two-dimensional experience possible. Wouldn’t a version be too intense? in virtual reality? Well, against our better judgment, we recently ran the game on PlayStation VR just to check it out. We can confirm that not only is it intense, it’s completely overwhelming!”
