Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata recently participated in an interview to talk about the game, its release, the newly released Platinum Demo currently running at dynamic resolution on PlayStation 4, and more.
According to Tabata, dynamic resolution on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One began as an experiment. The game currently switches between Full HD and 900p on PS4, depending on the platform’s engine loading time. In the popular Duscae Episode, the first demo of the gamewe remember that it ran at a static resolution of 900p on PS4.
tabata reaffirmed the importance that has the resolution and FPS for the studio, and promised that the team is fully committed to improving both features as we get closer to the game’s release on next September 30. Even though the Platinum Demo looks pretty close on PS4 and Xbox One, Tabata adds that he’s not sure if this will still be the case for the final game due to the technical limitations of each hardware.
